What are the advantages of cyanotypes?
The cyanotype process is relatively cheap and easy to use. A wide range of surfaces can be coated with the mixture of chemicals and you don't need a darkroom or any complicated equipment. Perhaps this is why artists are still using the process, sometimes to make quite large and unusual photographs.

Cyanotype1:
We made our first set of cyanotypes outside on the concourse. We exposed the photographic paper to the daylight. This was the first cyanotype i made, i was very pleased with my first attempt of cyanotypes because it came out really good. But when I placed the objects on the paper, it looked like the image off the objects had been smudged so I probably didnt leave it on long enough or it had moved when it was setting. If i had done it again i would have let it set for a much longer time or done a few more to see which time was the best to leave it at to set. But in total i think my first attempt was really impressive and it came out better then i expected it would be.
