Year 11 mock
For my 7 week project i have chosen the theme 'disguise', i chose this specific theme because i have seen photographs from Pinterest which have were related to this topic and they caught my eye because i had found them really fascinating and interesting, and i think i will find this theme really fun to work with because it looks quite complicated.

Richard Burbridge.
Richard Burbridge is a British fashion photographer born June 11th 1882, died in May 1964. Richard mainly used costumes and masks in his photography, capturing the imaginative and experimental imagery. The reason I chose Richard as one of my chosen photographers is because it links to disguise, I like how he used masks as a unique way of taking away peoples identity. He uses fashion to disguise people which is something that could attract young people to look at the images or buy the product.
I really like these images that Richard Burbridge has created, especially the ones with the metal looking masks on their faces, these are quite interesting because it is artistic and it looks really good. The mask makes them look trapped, which makes it more interesting. |

Januz Miralles.
Cecilia Paredes. |
Januz Miralles is an artist from the Philippines, she uses a mix of photography and painting. I think her work is very interesting, she uses paint and smudges it to reveal emotions of the character placed in her work. Its good that she does it this way because its easy to tell how the characters feeling inside and it is clearly shown in the photographs.

A true artist thinks outside of the box, does the unexpected, and Cecilia Paredes does exactly that with her unique paintings. Like other artists, she finds inspiration from everything that surrounds her including herself and then takes a step beyond the expected and submerges herself in her art.
I like how Cecilia makes the characters camouflage, to blend in with the background/wallpaper. Its done very well and in some images you cannot actually see the person, this shows how good of an artist she is. |

WWW: These are my initial images taken using natural light, and a white background in the school corridor and I have just focused on just the facial features. I want to further develop these images by adding another layer, which will be in other materials, such as paint, ink, newspaper, soap suds. I plan to experiment using the darkroom because i find using the dark room really easy and the outcome could be very good, or i could use Photoshop as i've never used it before and i like to try new things to experiment on photos. Or I'm going to print them out and play around with the images to see what looks best.
EBI: I could have made them better by taking full face photos instead of only the facial parts. What I want is to create smaller close ups so that I can create a grid. And also i could have done more.
Final Evaluation:
These are my photos from my first experiment but i changed them by using photoshop to do these experiments so i could play around with them to see what looks good and what looks bad because before this i never used to use photoshop, I clicked filter and liquify then used bloat and pucker to change the look of the photos, then i put a neon affect on them all. I made the photos look doll like, to disguise them, i really like my outcome because you wouldn't be able to recognise them, this is because i have made their facial features different. I could have done it better by doing two of each and by doing more and different filters. After discovering what went well with this experiment i decided to make these photos my final piece, i think i chose these because they are my best experiment and even though i like my first one, changing the facial features around and making them more disguised has made them look much more fascinating and i found they would be a good final piece as i have used a range of techniques and processes such as photoshop and close ups. Overall i think i done really well but if i had the choice to re do this topic i would because i don't believe i done enough experiments and evaluations.
